Art master Monday-Chihuly

Dale Chihuly is an amazing glass sculptor from the pacific Northwest. His work is unequivocally distinctive and breath taking. There aren’t many words needed to describe his work – they are much better experienced than described. Check out just a few of his different styles below.

“Glass is the most magical of all materials. It transmits light in a special way.”

–Chihuly

“Can a work be too colorful? I don’t know if something can be too colorful. Color is one of the greatest properties of glass and is more intense in glass than any other material.”

–Chihuly

I have been lucky to visit several Chihuly installations and exhibits at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden (@dallasarboretum) and the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Florida (@moreanartscenter), and encourage you to check one out when you have a chance! There is a joy in the motion and color that he utilizes that the viewer can’t escape from! My personal favorites that I’ve seen are the chandeliers, the ceilings, and the large ‘curly cue’ sculptures. There are so many other types and they are all magnificent. Below are several photos of my favorites
